Ibrahim Bisallah

Mr. Ibrahim Bisallah holds B.Sc. (Textile Sc. & Tech.), PGDM and an MBA from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and served in various capacities and locations in the Bank of Industry.

Prior to his current appointment, he served as the Group Head, (Engineering & Technology), Bank of Industry Limited.

He has over 30 years’ experience in the Finance Industry specifically in the Development Financial Institution (DFI) with the Nigerian Industrial Development Bank (now Bank of Industry).

At the early start of his carrier in 1988 in the Bank of Industry, he worked in the Banking Division as an Industrial Engineer on Industrial Projects (Large and Small Scale) at the Head Office and at the Zonal Offices in Kaduna and Abuja and rose to become a Manager in 1998. In 2006, he was posted to SME Coordinating Office where he coordinated the activities of the SME Group nationwide in the Headquarters. He had a little stint in Lagos Zonal Office and was subsequently posted to Aba as the South East Zonal Manager where he served for three years before he was redeployed to the Large Enterprises as the Head of Textile. A year later he was redeployed to Asaba as the Zonal Manager for the South-South Region. For strategic reasons, after a year, he was redeployed to Risk Management and served as the Head of Credit Administration.

In 2011, to reinvigorate the operations of the North West region, he was redeployed to Kaduna to serve as the Zonal Manager for the North West. He marketed the Matching Fund Scheme to the State Governors in the North West leading to the successful execution of MOU’s between the Kano and Kaduna States governments and BOI where N2.0 Billion and N1.0 Billion Joint Matching Funds were created including the establishment of entrepreneurship capacity training Academy-KADSTEP (Kaduna State Entrepreneurship Programme) in Kaduna State. All startup businesses must pass through the Academy before they could access the fund. To date, this Fund is still running with small-scale loans given to SMEs in Kano and Kaduna States with huge impact in terms of jobs creation.

In 2014, resulting from the paradigm shift, which scaled-up lending to the SMEs in Bank of Industry, the Banking Directorate comprising the Large and Small Scale Enterprises were restructured. Consequently, he was appointed as the Regional Head (North West) and supervised the establishment and running of four branches of BOI in Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Sokoto and Kebbi States.
He has attended several courses both foreign and local in the area of project appraisal and management, banking, finance, money laundering, machinery and technical specialist valuation, leasing and strategy development for SME banking etc.
